Livingstone

On Zambia’s side of the Zambezi, Victoria Falls reveals its drama in full. This is where water plunges into the gorge in breathtaking torrents, surrounded by rainforest trails and spray rainbows.

Livingstone is the Zambian gateway to Victoria Falls - one of the world’s most awe-inspiring natural wonders.

Known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya, or “The Smoke That Thunders,” the Falls are at their most powerful between February and May, but they impress year-round.

The Zambian side provides close-up viewpoints, rainforest trails, and access to activities ranging from white-water rafting and sunset cruises to cultural tours and local markets. It’s a vibrant town that pairs easily with nearby Lower Zambezi or Botswana’s Chobe National Park.

Livingstone Weather

Subtropical weather creates a dramatic contrast between wet and dry seasons.

Dry Season
Warm, dry weather offers clearer views of the Falls and easier photography.
November - April
Green Season
Torrential rains swell the Zambezi, creating a thundering spectacle, though heavy spray can obscure the view.
