Central Kalahari

The Central Kalahari Game Reserve offers a safari far removed from the beaten track. Stark yet beautiful, its sweeping savannas host black-maned lions, cheetahs, and resilient desert wildlife, while its silence and scale promise deep connection to Africa’s wild soul.

The Central Kalahari Game Reserve is one of the world’s largest protected wilderness areas, covering over 50,000 square kilometres of semi-arid savannah.

Remote and rugged, it offers a raw and authentic safari experience far from the crowds. While the landscape may seem harsh at first glance, it supports an extraordinary range of wildlife – including black-maned Kalahari lions, cheetahs, brown hyenas, oryx, and springbok.

During the summer rains (December to March), the valleys burst into life, attracting thousands of herbivores and offering superb predator sightings. This is also the ancestral land of the San Bushmen, whose cultural knowledge and storytelling enrich the experience of this vast, soulful landscape.
